We're Off!

I will be back in BG with the h2o crew in less than 18 hours!!! And then we'll eat, praise God and pray, sleep and LEAVE FOR THE SUMMER! I am so excited! I've been packing like crazy all day. I had to go through my boxes of stuff that I still had packed from school in order to find things I needed for this summer. At least my room looks a lot cleaner! It's so hard, trying to figure out what is ABSOLUTELY necessary (there are things that I consider necessary, but can live without) for the summer and what is not. Clothing is a big thing, because I own a lot of shirts, sweatshirts, etc. and I literally had to put different piles of clothes around the room today and then go through and figure out what I absolutely wanted to take, and what I could probably do without. Books were another problem (and I'm learning still is a problem!). There are a lot of books I want to read, and re-read, and I'm trying to decide which ones will be better over the others to take. Right now the biggest book I want to get through this summer is Captivating by John Eldredge. I'm pretty excited about it. I'd also like to get through the New Testament. Other than that, I have quite a few books that will keep me busy. And instruments! I was only going to take my violin and hardcore practice it over the summer, but I'm realizing that if I don't take my clarinet, I'm going to hardcore suck at it when I come back to it in the fall.
There are things I'd like to get accomplished this summer. I really need strength in being able to stay focused no matter what situation I'm in, or where I'm at. Sometimes I get really distracted by what's going on around me, especially when I'm going through some low points in my life. I'm praying God will show me how to focus on Him no matter where I'm at or what I'm going through. I'd like to read a few books, study the Bible more in-depth, get deep in prayer, and practice hardcore. I know there'll be lots of people to meet out there at LT, and lots of things to do and see, and I'm really looking forward to some of that, but it's definitely NOT my main focus, the people and new things. My main focus is to get a strong focus on Christ and keep it there no matter what, and to strengthen my faith, and learn what it is to really be a Godly leader and a strong spiritual leader.
Well, I'm almost done packing, just a few small things here and there to shove in a few open places in my duffle bag or bookbag. The big stuff's out of the way. I leave tomorrow! It's here! Keep us in your prayers as we make our way out there early Monday morning!
